An Introduction
Everyone hits a rough patch in his or her life at some time. Many of us find it hard to speak to our family or friends about our worries. Sometimes we feel stuck or isolated and want to speak to someone who is impartial and can accept us just as we are.
Maybe we have difficulty articulating our problems: we are simply not accustomed to speaking about our emotions. Sometimes a problem has been going on for our whole lives, and we just want it to stop.
Counselling is a way of dealing with any of these difficulties. Counselling offers people the opportunity to find out why they are having problems, or why life sometimes feels pointless or even unbearable.
Counselling offers people opportunities for change by helping them to develop self-awareness, to build on their strengths and to increase their self-confidence.
People often seek help when faced with:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Sexuality Issues
- Relationships
- Eating Disorders
- Bereavement
- Abuse
- Low Self Esteem
- Lack of Confidence
- Stress
- Trauma
- Cultural issues
- Personal Development
- Disability
